There’s no shortage of electric vehicles that are much heavier than a comparable combustion model.

We’ve rounded up the heaviest ones available in 2023.

The manufacturer says the truck variant can weigh up to 9,063 lbs.

What’s almost unbelievable is that the battery alone weighs in at a whopping 2,923 lbs.

To put into perspective just how heavy the battery is, a Mini Cooper two-door hardtop weighs 2,769 lbs.

It’s mind-boggling that the Hummer’s battery alone weighs more than an entire compact car.

There are vehicles for sale that are more capable off-road than the Hummer EV, and quicker on-road.

For a pickup of its size, the Rivian R1T is one heavy vehicle.

The Rivian’s quad-motor setup is probably responsible for some extra pounds, as is the enormous 135-kWh battery.

With functionality like this, it’s not difficult to see why the Rivian’s weight quickly adds up.

Rolls-Royce and electric motors seem like a match made in heaven.

Electrification has done nothing to spoil the classic Rolls-Royce lines that adorn the Spectre’s gorgeous bodywork.

The 6,228-pound EQS SUV is therefore more than 1,000 pounds heavier than the Model X.

It’s just remarkable that something this heavy can challenge most purpose-built supercars when it comes to acceleration.

Automakers need to find a way to cut some of the weight because safety is a concern.
