Its no secret that when it comes to gaming chairs, Secretlab is a fan favorite.
So why are we reviewing this now, at the tail end of 2022?
Stick around, and well reveal everything, old and new, about Secretlabs newest gaming chair.
Secretlab clearly puts an emphasis on this user experience and makes everything as premium and intuitive as possible.
Though, it is a bit excessive for my taste.
The amount of packing foam in the box also felt overkill.
As for assembly, it couldnt be simpler.
All of the steps for assembly are clearly outlined on the instruction card.
There must be a more eco-friendly way to do this.
Once its fully assembled, the chair looks great.
Its fairly large for a gaming chair or what you might expect from a more generic wheelbase rolling chair.
What’s New Since 2021?
For starters, the chair is much quieter.
In daily use, I haven’t noticed any squeaking or rattling, even when Im reclining or rocking.
However, the chair isnt completely silent.
As many have pointed out, the armrests for the chair can wobble and rattle around quite a bit.
This seems partly because the armrests are magnetic and interchangeable (with optional memory foam rests available).
In reality, it’s just not something that bothered me in day-to-day use.
Unlike squeaking hinges that could be due to reclining, the armrests wont rattle unless youre deliberately trying.
Finally, the wheelbase.
The wheelbase is made of reinforced ACD12 aluminum and feels heavy-duty.
While thats obviously a matter of personal preference, my answer would be: absolutely, yes.
The first thing youll hear most people say after sitting in a Secretlab chair is that its very firm.
Speaking of support, there are knobs on either side of the backrest for lumbar adjustment.
Both the armrests and the memory foam head pillow are magnetized.
Surprisingly though, Id go as far as to say it’s a feature worth getting excited about.
Ive had no issues with the pillow coming loose or falling off.
The Titan Evo 2022 is available in two fabrics: Neo hybrid leatherette and SoftWeave Plus fabric.
Ive been reviewing the leatherette version, and overall, I like the material.
Its difficult to describe, but there is a mild odor that smells both chemical and leathery.
Regardless of your chosen fabric, its difficult to deny how great this chair looks.
Is the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 Worth It?
But for an office chair?
Thats actually not too bad if youre looking for a good-quality single chair.
High-end office chairs can run to outrageous pricesand I highly doubt those have a magnetic headrest pillow.
