The Radxa Rock 5B promises a whole new level of performance for single-board computer enthusiasts.

It’s better equipped in hardware and ports, while also boasting a color-coded 40-pin GPIO header.

What’s So Special About the Radxa Rock 5B’s Specs?

A specialized 2D hardware engine with MMU enhances display performance and delivers a seamless user experience.

There’s also the option of using a microSD card.

Rock Pi makes the Wireless Module, which can be bought for about $10.

This is bigger than the Raspberry Pi 4, which is 85.6 x 56.5 mm.

Visually, it looks like it’s one third larger than the Pi 4.

With the Radxa Rock 5B, you will need a fan in order for it to run smoothly.

When you buy an SBC that is not a Raspberry Pi, it’s a lot less smooth.

You will need Linux expertise to get everything running smoothly.

It might even be a better deal spec-for-spec.

If you wanted the 8GB model, you’d pay $149 and the 16GB goes for $189.

Raspberry Pi Ltd has promised that 2023 will be a year in which supply problems will be eased.

Theoretically, this means that prices will fall back to its official prices.

There’s another alternative.Consider a mini-PC instead of a Piif your use case doesn’t require GPIO pins.

If the Rock 5B doesn’t satisfy your needs, thenconsider other Raspberry Pi alternatives.

These storage options offer much higher performance, better reliability (e.g.

no accidental dislodging of the microSD card), and longer read-write lifespans.

Further complicating the equation is the fact that the Rock 5B is a bit more difficult to work with.
