So depending on how large you want your home security to be, there’s the opportunity to mix-and-match.
While not excessive, it didn’t feel like an ideal use case for the camera.
As before, the included installation works best for relatively simple installations.
Whenever taking the camera down to charge, the magnetic hold also makes for easy removal.
Beyond the magnetic base stand that appears integral to its design, theres IP65 waterproofing and some fire resilience.
In my experience, the Nooie Pro Cam performed without issue across high temperatures and heavy storms.
The standard IR night vision covers around 32 feet before it’s much harder to distinguish.
In terms of detection, the PIR motion sensor ranges between 32 and 49 feet.

A downside to your protection, however, is that the on-camera siren sounds more chime-like and melodic.
As a deterrent, its much less loud and jarring than Nooie’s doorbell camera.
Unfortunately, the Nooie Pro Cam remains fixed at its 2K resolution.
While the improved base station does help improve your connection, it’s a detail to keep under consideration.
For those concerned about false alarms, the built-in AI algorithm still does a good job at detecting humans.
In terms of empty recordings of nothing or animal triggers, these occur infrequently.
There are still some concessions within the Nooie app, however.
You cant easily download videos to your phone via the app.
Instead, youll either have to use a screen recorder or start an in-app recording when viewing footage.
However, Nooie Cloud does provide some benefits when enabled on your camera.
When trying to quickly sort through previous notifications, this makes it much easier to source specific events.
This typically generates a good highlight wheel, but there are no real ways to interact with the clip.
If youve previously used the Nooie skill with Alexa, any newly added cameras will automatically register.
With the newer base station, the loading delay with Alexa also seems to be improved.
So if you’re looking to swap between camera views, it’s a much smoother matter.
Should You Buy the Nooie Pro Cam?
Much of the value of the Nooie Pro Cam comes from its small size and flexibility in placement.
The 2K resolution, spotlight, and magnetic mount allow for a crisp recording almost anywhere.
As a trade-off, there are still some bugs and limitations that come with the Nooie Pro Cam.
You look elsewhere if youre after uninterrupted recordings.
Plus, you’ll ultimately need to weigh the efficiency of its battery life relative to your security concerns.
For high activity areas, you won’t want a battery-powered camera.
For many, the Nooie cam will cover your everyday needs.
But if youre after the highest security integration versus more friendly ease of usethis isn’t for you.
