It’s easy to turn this feature on when setting up a new iPhone or iPad without meaning to.
This method is quick and simple, though there are a few potential downsides.
To turn off the ringer on your iPad, open configs and tap onSounds.
Bring this slider all the way to the left and ensure the toggle forChange with Buttonsis disabled.
Now, you’ve turned off your ringer and alert notifications.
This could be a positive if you only want notifications from your iPhone or Apple Watch.
To do this, open options and tap on thePhonesection.
Now, the volume buttons control your ringer and alerts.
Still, this is a great option for quickly muting your iPad notifications.
Unfortunately, you cannot simply silence incoming phone calls.
While this sounds complex, the process is fairly simple and straightforward.
bring up the configs app, then tapFocusin the list on the left.
You’ll see them here if you’ve already been using built-in modes like Do Not Disturb.
Choose a name, color, and icon for the Focus mode.
Then, tapCustomize Focus.
SelectChoose Apps, then selectAllow Notifications Fromat the top of the list.
The list below will populate with a few apps, but you might add more.
There areplenty of other aspects to Focus modes, but this is all you need for notifications.
After you’ve created your custom Focus mode, you should probably enable it from the Control Center.
Pull down from the top-right of the iPad’s screen, then long-press onFocusand choose your custom Focus Mode.
When you want to disable it, you might tap theFocustoggle.
While this is handy, you may only want to attend calls on certain devices.
To get started, fire up the parameters app, scroll down, and tap thePhoneicon.
If you want to disable calls everywhere but on your iPhone, disable theAllow Calls on Other Devicestoggle.
This lets you manage which devices do and don’t ring when you receive an incoming call.
