Home Assistant Community Store, or HACS, is a powerful integration for Home Assistant that allows users to download and install custom add-ons, integrations, themes, elements, etc.
Discover how to install HACS on both the Supervised Home Assistant server running on a Raspberry Pi HASS OS and a non-supervised Home Assistant Server running in a Docker container on a Linux OS.
Install HACS on Supervised Home Assistant Server (HASS OS/Linux OS)

Install HACS on Non-Supervised Home Assistant Server (Docker on Linux OS)
As theres no option to install add-ons in the non-supervised Home Assistant server, we need to manually navigate to the Home Assistant directory in the terminal window to download and install HACS.

After installing and configuring HACS successfully on your supervised or non-supervised Home Assistant server, you could use the community store to search for and install custom integrations and themes.

Customize Home Assistant to Your Choice
With HACS, you get access to a wide array of custom integrations and themes that you’re free to install to customize your Home Assistant server as per your needs.
For instance, we added an LG AC controller from the HACS store to control our Wi-Fi-enabled window AC unit using Home Assistant.
We also installed the Alexa Media Player to add and control our Alexa devices, such as Echo Dot and Fire TV.
