A common error for a game crashing on Windows is theDirectX function GetDeviceRemovedReason Failederror.
There are several ways to fix the error.
Restart the Display Driver

Update Display Drivers
Search forDevice Managerin the Start Menu and select theBest match.
Doing this should launch theDevice Manager.
Search forDisplay adapterson the list of devices and snag the tiny arrow to its left.
You’ll see a list of display adapters.
Right-tap on the display you’re using and selectUpdate driver.
SelectSearch automatically for driversif you want Windows to look for a driver and install it automatically.
Give it some time to scan , and Windows will plant the latest drivers, provided it finds them.
However, in a lot of cases, it will just say that the latest drivers are already installed.
In that case, you’d want to select theBrowse my computer for driversoption and load the drivers manually.
Note that you’ll need installation files for the latest driver.
So, you’ll need tofind the latest driveron the manufacturer’s website.
Launch the Control Panel and navigate toHardware and Sound>Power Options.
Look forHigh performanceand snag the radio button to its left.

PressWin + R, typecmd, and pressCtrl + Shift + Enterto launch CMD as an administrator.
Next, execute the following command:
Doing this will start the SFC scan.
Let it complete and see if your game works fine now.
However, note that you should alwaysback up your registryin case you mess something up inadvertently.

Right-choose the empty space and selectNew>DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Repair the Game You’re Trying to Launch
Windows can often repair third-party apps installed on your PC.
If nothing has worked so far, the repair option is worth a shot.
PressWin + Ito launch theSettingsapp.
Navigate toApps>Apps & features.
Search for the game and press the three vertical dots next to its name.
Then, selectAdvanced options.
Scroll down to theResetsection and select theRepairbutton.
Clear App Data and Reinstall the Game
As a last resort, you might consider reinstalling your game.
To uninstall the game, search for the game you want to uninstall in the Start Menu.
go for the game from the search results and click onUninstallfrom the right pane.
You will be prompted to confirm your uninstallation.
Confirm it and let the process complete.
Once the uninstallation completes, pressWin + R, pop in%appdata%, and pressEnter.
Find a folder with the name of the game you just uninstalled.
Select it and pressCtrl + Shift + Delete.
Doing this will delete the game’s app data and cache files.
reboot your PC and reinstall the game.
