Let’s get started.

TheJPEG Artifacts RemovalNeural Filter is the one designated to remove pixelation from JPEG images.

With the JPEG loaded in Photoshop, go toImage>Image Size.

Change the dimensions to the size you wish to work with.

For this example, we went with 3,000 pixels forwidth, which gives us 2,002 pixels forheight.

We also checked theResamplebox and selectedPreserve Details 2.0.

Where to find Neural Filters

When we zoom in 100%, we can see the pixelation on the woman’s face.

Go toFilter>Neural Filters.

UnderRestoration, simply click onJPEG Artifacts Removal.

Image and Image Size

It may take a few minutes to process depending on your setup’s processing speed.

You’ll see that much of the pixelation has been fixed.

But there’s still some distortion left.

Change to 3000 pixels

For now, change theOutputtoNew layerand clickOK.

What we’re left with is a pretty good JPEG file which we can clean up further.

Let’s create a new blank layer first to work non-destructively.

Zoomed in to 100 percent

Next, pressSon your keyboard for the Clone Stamp tool.

So dig up those pixelated JPEGs and share them with the world!
