When you pay Amazon some money for a Kindle eBook, you probably think its yours now.
Well, thats wrong.
Actually, you didnt buy anything, and you dont own that book you just paid for.
Now we need to get at the actual files for these books.
So, now we have all of our DRM-protected files downloaded, and we know where they are.
Next, install Calibre.
Now, unzip Apprentice Alfs plugin bundle into a folder.
It doesnt matter where you put this folder.
I just dumped it in my Downloads directory:
Note the Calibre_Plugins subfolder thats what well need.
You should now get a success message:
And… youre done.
Now restart Calibre, and lets break some DRM.
The Fun Part
Remember the My Kindle Content we located a few steps back?
Now, open that folder, and open Calibre.
Thats right: Just drag and drop, theres nothing more to it.
Calibre will now crunch some numbers, and add all of your books to its library.
Those copies cant be removed by Amazon, no matter how naughty they think youve been.
Whats yours is yours mission accomplished.
