The benefit of using software like ClickUp or Asana is their out-of-the-box project boards that require minimal customization.
Not sure how it works?
Heres a quick start guide to help you get going.
Between the tasks and projects pages, this is where youll be doing the bulk of the work.
The default properties on your task page areTask name,Status,Assign,Due, andProject.
it’s possible for you to also choose a task name to view or add relevant information.
you’re free to find this by clicking the three dots in the top-right corner of the database.
Status
Statusgives a quick progress overview.
There are multiple status options, categorized byTo-do,In Progress, andComplete.
Complete tasks such asDoneandArchivewill fill the progress bar on your projects page.
Assign and Due
Assignshows who owns the task.Duecommunicates deadlines and allows you toset reminders.
These are definite keepers if collaborating with others, delegating tasks, or creating an open task board.
Project
Projectis a relation property that links the task to its respective project.
A task can only link to one project.
Deleting it will break the communication between pages.
By default, youre in the project view, in which you organize your tasks by project.
TheMineview creates a to-do list of all your tasks, organizing them into a checklist.
And when you check something off here, it marks it as done everywhere else.
ThePeopleview gives you a quick overview of the tasks you and your teammates are working on.
This is an excellent tool for checking in with each other and making sure someones workload isnt too hefty.
Another way you could sort tasks is by using filters.
For example, viewing everything with aNot Startedstatus or only tasks assigned to specific people.
It uses a more visual board layout where you’re able to drag and drop items between statuses.
If you fill these out, theyll display on the board.
Here’s how you’re able to do that.
Once its in your database, click its title to give it the name you want.
In theEdit propertymenu, youll see three categories of statusesTo do, In Progress, and Complete.
At the top of its page, youll see the option# more properties.
Click that, and the optionAdd a propertywill appear.
Once you add a property to a project, youll see it in all your other projects as well.
But once you know where to look, its a cinch.
nudge the three dots in the top-right of your database, selectProperties, and chooseStatus.
The best place to start is getting the hang of the template as is and adding extras later.
