Fortunately, fixing the error shouldn’t take you longer than finishing a cup of coffee.
From Internet Properties to Internet Explorer tweaks, there could be several reasons that could cause the error.
To illustrate this behavior here, we downloaded the 4K Video Downloader’s setup file onto a PC.
Once you’re done, try running the file and see if everything is back on track.
Note that this will require you to make your security options less stringent from the Internet Properties.
If you decide to take this route, start by opening Internet Properties.
To do this, pressWin + R, typeinetcpl.cpl, and pressEnter.
Switch to theSecuritytab in the Internet Properties window and hit theCustom levelbutton.
You’ll now see a window calledSecurity configs - Internet Zone.
Scroll through the list under theSettingssection and look forLaunching applications and unsafe files.
check that that the radio button forPrompt (recommended)is selected.
Once you’re done, clickOKand see if you’re able to initiate the file.
You’ll need to add a new registry entry using the Command Prompt.
Start by launching elevated Command Prompt by pressingWin + R, typingcmd, and pressingCtrl + Shift + Enter.
Execute the following commands one by one:
This will add two new registry keys.
Once you’re done, kickstart your PC and try opening the files.
Reset Internet Explorer
If you use Internet Explorer, resetting the parameters to default could be helpful.
Switch to theAdvancedtab and choose theResetbutton.
When prompted, confirm the reset and then reboot your PC.
If you still can’t execute the files you want, perhaps it’s time for a last resort.
Start by pressingWin + R, typingrstrui, and pressingEnter.
This will launch theSystem Restorewindow.
If you do have a restore point, you’ll see one under theRecommended restoreoption.
